Birth & Postnatal Doulas
What is a Birth & Postnatal Doula?
As far back as history is recounted, women attended women in childbirth. They provided a ministry of education to young women about their bodies, having children and healthy pregnancies. Childbearing women relied on their close-knit community of women to assist them in labour, birth and early care of their children. Today we call this childbirth professional a doula.
The WOMB Doulas are a team of doulas and childbirth educators committed to providing expectant and new parents with exceptional emotional, physical, and educational nurturing, love and service. While under the care of a Midwife, Family Physician and/or Obstetrician, we provide support both in the home and/or in hospital, giving families the best care possible. It is our goal to increase confidence and decrease fears with respect for our clients, and their birth and parenting choices - allowing for a more positive, peaceful birth and postnatal experience.

She is trained in breastfeeding support and newborn care and will guide you from the moment your baby is born and for the month after.
“I’m so grateful for our doula. She provided us with such care, education, support and comfort throughout the transition into motherhood. Having her by our side for the birth of my baby was the best decision! Highly recommend!!”

“We were very happy with our experience and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the postpartum doula service to anyone we know who are expecting. Our doula’s support and peace of mind she provided, knowing our baby was in great hands, was wonderful as we were transitioning to being parents of a toddler and a newborn- and allowed us to get as much sleep as possible in those early days. We are so thankful for her help and The WOMB for connecting us with her.”
