This Prenatal Breastfeeding Class was made for you – with your needs in mind. How you can be more prepared, more confident and have more options – breast, bottle, pumping and formula feeding taught by The WOMB’s International Board Certified lactation consultants!

In this “essentials” class, you will:

  • learn how to establish a connection with your baby from the start

  • understand why skin-to-skin with your baby is so important to brain development, immune strength, temperature regulation and feeding cues in the early minutes, hours and days of your baby’s life

  • understand milk supply and how you can increase it (or decrease it)

  • learn how to hand-express (and what it is and why it’s so important!)

  • interpret newborn breastfeeding behaviour to make feeding an easier transition for all

  • discuss the role of partners in infant feeding

  • learn all-about-that-LATCH

  • be able to identify special situations and how to troubleshoot any challenges that may arise.

  • And ask all those myth busting questions you have!

This class is also offered at a discounted rate of $50/couple for WOMB Doula Clients and clients enrolled in The WOMB Prenatal Classes. See all of our Pregnancy and Childbirth Education offerings here.

Our Instructor

Heidi Reynolds, RN, IBCLC, Lactation Consultant

I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing with an Honors Distinction from the University of Western Ontario in 2012. With a passion for perinatal health, I began my career as a nurse in the Obstetrical Care Unit at London Health Sciences Centre. In 2015, I had my first baby and we faced all kinds of breastfeeding challenges. With the support of an amazing village, including a couple of wonderfully skilled lactation consultants, we came to find out our son had a significant tongue tie. This inspired my own career shift into lactation consulting. In 2018, I became designated as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). With a special interest in tethered oral tissues (aka tongue & lip ties), I have been dedicated to supporting families along their infant feeding journeys since!

As a mom of 3, I understand how challenging navigating infant feeding can sometimes be. From planning prenatally, to the early newborn days, to introducing solids, and beyond, I am happy to help you and your baby meet your unique needs.
